At club level, Cafu enjoyed success in both Brazil and Europe, winning domestic and international honours with São Paulo before moving to Italy. With AS Roma, he lifted the Serie A title in 2001, and later with AC Milan, he added another Scudetto and the 2007 Champions League, cementing his legacy in European football. For Brazil, he won two World Cups (1994, 2002), captaining the side in the latter, and lifted two Copa América titles, becoming the most-capped player in his country’s history.
