Cafu is one of the greatest right-backs in football history and a symbol of Brazilian excellence. Known for his tireless energy, overlapping runs and leadership, Cafu set the standard for modern full-backs and remains the only player to appear in three consecutive World Cup finals.

At club level, Cafu enjoyed success in both Brazil and Europe, winning domestic and international honours with São Paulo before moving to Italy. With AS Roma, he lifted the Serie A title in 2001, and later with AC Milan, he added another Scudetto and the 2007 Champions League, cementing his legacy in European football. For Brazil, he won two World Cups (1994, 2002), captaining the side in the latter, and lifted two Copa América titles, becoming the most-capped player in his country’s history.
