Ronaldinho, born Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, is remembered as one of the most joyful and entertaining players ever to grace a football pitch. EARLY YEARS AND RISE IN BRAZIL
Born in Porto Alegre in 1980, Ronaldinho grew up playing futsal and beach football, which shaped his unique close control and flair. He broke through at Grêmio, where his dazzling skills quickly made him a sensation. By 2001, he joined Paris Saint-Germain in Europe, showing flashes of brilliance that caught the attention of the world’s biggest clubs.

BARCELONA – THE GOLDEN YEARS
In 2003, Ronaldinho signed for Barcelona, transforming the club’s fortunes. Wearing the famous No. 10 shirt, he brought joy and creativity to the Camp Nou. Ronaldinho led Barça to back-to-back La Liga titles (2005, 2006) and the 2006 Champions League. His incredible solo goal against Chelsea and his standing ovation at the Santiago Bernabéu after destroying Real Madrid remain iconic moments. In 2005, he won the Ballon d’Or, confirming his status as the best in the world.

AC MILAN AND LATER CAREER
In 2008, Ronaldinho joined AC Milan, adding flair to a squad already filled with stars. While he never reached the same heights as in Barcelona, he still produced magical moments in Serie A and delighted fans with his trademark tricks. Later, he returned to Brazil to play for Flamengo and Atlético Mineiro, winning the Copa Libertadores in 2013.

BRAZIL AND WORLD CUP GLORY
Ronaldinho shone brightest on the international stage with Brazil. At the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan, he formed part of the legendary trio with Ronaldo and Rivaldo. His unforgettable free-kick against England in the quarter-final helped Brazil on their way to lifting their fifth World Cup. With his flair and creativity, he embodied the spirit of Brazilian football.
